Alan Goldman, MD, FACS
Alan L. Goldman, M.D., F.A.C.S, is the leading expert on the non-surgical treatment of hemorrhoids in the Southeast. In 2006 Dr. Goldman co- founded the Center of Colorectal Health in Atlanta . Since that time he has performed over 5,000 banding procedures using the CRH O’Regan Ligation System. Dr. Goldman has appeared on television on Focus Atlanta, the CW Network, Atlanta & Company, NBC 11 Alive, and as also been a guest lecturer at Emory University as he continues to help spread the message on the importance of colorectal health.
Dr. Goldman obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology from Michigan State University in 1970. He received his Medical Degree in 1975 from the University of Michigan. Dr. Goldman did a Surgery Residency and Surgical Research Fellowship at Emory University during the years of 1975-1981. Dr. Goldman’s education, training, and experience allow him to care for all stages of hemorrhoids problems.
Dr. Goldman is the Chief of General Surgery at North Fulton Regional Hospital. He has been caring for surgical patients in the Atlanta area since 1981.
Dr. Goldman is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Goldman and his wife, Marci Goldman, have been married for thirty-five years and have five children.
Mitch Guttenplan, MD, FACS
Mitchel Guttenplan, M.D., F.A.C.S. has been the Co-Medical Director of the Centers for Colorectal Health in Sandy Springs and Roswell since the Clinic’s inception. Dr. Guttenplan is also the Associate Medical Director of CRH Medical Products Corporation and in this role, is active lecturing and teaching other physicians in the techniques used to care for patients with hemorrhoids, fissures and other ano-rectal disorders.
Dr. Guttenplan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, and then earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. He then went on to complete his internship, residency and chief residency in Surgery at the Emory University Affiliated Hospitals. In 1987, he entered private practice in Roswell, GA with his primary practice at North Fulton Regional Hospital. Dr. Guttenplan has held a number of leadership positions at the hospital, including the Chief of the Combined Surgical Sections, Chief of General Surgery and the Chief of the Trauma Service and Committee.
Dr. Guttenplan is Certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He and his wife, Linda, have been married since 1983 and they have two children.
